The Jeep Wrangler has enjoyed such undeniable popularity for the better part of four decades, to the point that it can seem like an exclusive club. Much like Harley-Davidson riders, Wrangler drivers greet each other with “the Jeep wave.” Many of them also deck out their dashboards with little toy ducks, and they search their vehicles for “Easter eggs” hidden in various places during manufacturing. What’s really important, though, is that the Wrangler continues to prove its capability on and off the pavement. Some of the noteworthy updates for 2026 include a new hinge system that makes door removal easier, maximizing the Wrangler's open-air capabilities. Meanwhile, new colors like the limited-edition Reign (a deep purple) turn this Ohio-built favorite into even more of an attention-getter.
This trim builds on the Sport by adding everyday comfort and convenience features like automatic headlamps, heated power side-view mirrors, rear privacy glass, a steering wheel wrapped in premium material, and a security alarm. It also gets a Corning Gorilla Glass windshield and 17-inch gray wheels. There are also some safety upgrades not seen on the base trim, including forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, advanced brake-assist, and a rear-seat reminder (four-door). This edition opens the door to options like heated front seats, blind-spot monitoring, and an Alpine audio system.
The Willys leans more into off-road heritage with tougher tires, a limited-slip differential, and rugged styling cues designed for trail readiness. This trim also adds LED headlamps and front fog lamps, LED daytime running lights, a trailer receiver hitch and wiring harness, sill rails for protection from rocks, auxiliary switches, and 17-inch painted black wheels with mud-terrain tires. The four-door version is upgraded with a 21.5-gallon fuel tank.
Made only as a four-door, the Sahara balances off-road ability with more comfort and refinement, getting a turbocharged engine, an automatic transmission, larger wheels, and a more polished interior and exterior. Its standard equipment list also boasts remote start, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, single-zone automatic temperature control, LED taillights, a body-color grille, a 7-inch driver information display, premium door panels, and a 115-volt power outlet. A hydraulic-assist brake booster adds to its stopping power, while 18-inch machined and painted gray wheels with all-season tires help the Sahara stand apart from other Wrangler trims. The technology upgrades include emergency call assist, connected travel/traffic services, HD radio, and integrated voice command.
Jeep trades some of the Sahara’s premium amenities (including the heated front seats, heated steering wheel, and premium door panels) for advanced 4×4 hardware such as a Dana M220 full-floating rear axle, Tru-Lok front and rear axles, and Rock-Trac heavy-duty part-time 4WD system. A hood with air vents and 17-inch machined/painted black wheels with off-road tires add a mark of distinction to the Rubicon, which is available in both the two- and four-door body style.
The Rubicon X takes the Rubicon’s hardcore capability further with upmarket elements while maintaining all-terrain readiness. Its default features include a body-color three-piece hardtop, Nappa leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and an eight-way power driver’s seat. The four-door version also gets a soft top and a four-way power front passenger seat. Steel front and rear bumpers add to its appeal, as do premium door panels, sound-reducing front door glass and front carpeting, a rear window washer and wiper, rear window defroster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather-wrapped parking brake handle and shift knob, an integrated off-road camera, and a Freedom Panel storage bag.
Jeep also enhanced the Rubicon X’s safety technology with standard blind-spot monitoring, cross-path detection, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams. This top-of-the-line Wrangler benefits as well from an expanded infotainment system with navigation, Alpine audio with nine speakers, HD radio, integrated voice command, and access to connected travel and traffic services.
